petits cadeaux de la fête

i received two lovely paintings, still lifes (nature morte en français) from two gifted artists over the thanksgiving holiday that i wanted share with you. both artists are also excellent writer-poets, and you can find links to their words on their websites.

the first painting "apples revisited" is by Mary Stebbins Taitt. her marvelous art blog, "Imagik", is a veritable delight for anyone who is interested in the process of painting, of unfoldment, of feeling... and Mary shares this with her audience in the most unpretentious and authentic of ways. very eclectic themes. a must see! the second is by iraqi-assyrian-chaldion artist Paul Batou who i first met on gather.com and who later joined me at the presimulationism website. Paul uses the ancient mythology of mesopotamia and his childhood and wartime experiences in iraq to evoke some powerful large-format artworks. he lives in los angeles. thanks to both my friends for these totally beautiful and inspiring works! xoxooxx

I wish I had more time to play, now I want to make a still life flower arrangement inspired by this piece. But no time. Not now.
